“A Soft Morning” explores the liminal space between sleeping and waking – the moment when we attempt to integrate reality with fantasy, dreams, and memory. In this threshold, there is room for the body before full consciousness arrives. There is space for the body to remember, to exist in a world not yet restricted or defined.

Within this bodily reality, we are all the ages we have ever been. From a child crawling to an adult body, we exist simultaneously as individuals and in relation to others. The painting is about navigating these two worlds – sleep and waking, inner and outer – that appear separate yet deeply overlap.

It is where light meets dark, where comfort must be found without certainty, and where we learn to live with questions that cannot be resolved or simplified. Ultimately, “A Soft Morning” reflects the complexity of this stream between dream and reality – a complexity we must reconcile in order to be fully human.
