At the opening of his solo exhibition, the artist invited a saxophonist to perform Kenny G’s Going Home. The piece was later re-enacted in 2015 during the group exhibition Romantic Relevance: Hybridity of Identity at the Art Museum of Nanjing University of the Arts, with only the performer changed while the concept and method remained the same. In China, Going Home is a piece of music deeply ingrained in public life: it is commonly played in shopping malls before closing, signaling to customers that business hours have ended and to sales staff that it is time to leave work and return home.
