These texts are not meant to “express” anything in particular, but to foreground a generative relation on site—the resonance that emerges when text encounters the other works in the exhibition. It is this very encounter that constitutes meaning. They neither narrate nor evoke; rather, they mark a state of encounter between subject and other: text confronting sculpture, plaque confronting copper, Chinese characters confronting the Latin alphabet.
